Island Gypsy USA is a Northwest Yachts company located in beautiful Anacortes, WA, the gateway to the San Juan Islands and Inside Passage.  The San Juans and Inside Passage are noted as being some of the finest trawler cruising areas in the world.

Owned by Peter and Jan Whiting who have extensive experience in building, marketing, selling and cruising/living aboard trawlers, we a are proud to present the "new" Island Gypsy line of high quality, safe, and affordable yachts to the USA and Canadian markets.

Island Gypsy Trawlers and Motoryachts have been produced for over 35 years.  Recently, Island Gypsy was acquired by Hong Kong headquartered, Maxi Marine Group and moved into a new facility in the yacht building district in Zhuhai, China. 

Vic Duppenthaler, a principal of Maxi Marine Group is the Operations Manager.  He has extensive experiences in fiberglass boat manufacturing. Vic has a proven record in managing production at all stages, with over 40 years experience since 1970. He also has done extensive consulting in facility set-up, process improvement, scheduling, and budgeting. His technical experience includes a broad range of composites and best industry practices. He now lives in Zhuhai, China.

Mr. Duppenthaler is a long time Seminar speaker at the International Boat Builders' Exhibition (IBEX), American Boat Builders' & Repairers' Association (ABBRA) and member of Northwest Marine Trade Association. He has been Advisory Committee Chair of Skagit Community College's Marine Technical Program and Executive Vice President of Bellingham International Maritime Museum.
